Elmer
We heard a wonderful story about Elmer. It is about a patchwork elephant, who is different from all the other elephants in his herd. We loved how special and different Elmer was! We decided to write letters to tell Elmer that he is special, just like each of us!!
We sequenced the story in school, so perhaps we could tell it to you first, then have a look at it again!!
First Steps Writing Display
In November, we had a display of writing (and art) for all to see! We did recount writing based on the story of 'The Three Little Pigs'. Many people commented on our writing. Some couldn't believe that we are only Senior Infants!! A few people thought we had put up writing belonging to 4th class children. Well done us!!
Jolly Phonics Update
We have now revised all of our jolly Phonics sounds and diagraphs. It's really helped us with our reading each night. We're now ready to move onto our next phase!
Revision!
We will be revising all the letter sounds and digraphs from Junior Infants.
So far we have covered Group 1 and Group 2.
s, a, t, i, p & n.
ck, e, h, r, m & d.
We're now on Group 3.
g, o, u, l, f & b.
For 'g' we all tasted grapes and loved them!
On the day we revised 'o', teacher cut up oranges for us! They were so juicy!
We all wonder what we will get when we do 'l'....lollipops maybe??!!
